MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high pressure and temperature. MDF is denser than plywood.
At AXIS CNC we are capable of providing MDF routing, MDF Shaping, MDF machining as well as MDF Fabrication services.
MDF is very easy to router, therefore easy on router bits, no wood knots or possible pieces of foreign objects. Keenly priced, MDF accepts most paints and holds screws well.
There is a wide range of choice when routing MDF, not only in thickness, but also in grade of density.
Standard grade MDF is approximately 3 times heavier than plywood and has environmental issues as it contains formaldehyde. It will also swell when wet. AXIS CNC can print directly onto all MDF products and contour cut using optical router cutting.

Euro Class B & C is an MDF panel developed specifically for use in situations where a Euro Class B or a Euro Class C flame retardant board is required under building regulations.

Medite Exterior is an MDF panel developed specifically for use in a wide range of external applications in accordance with MDF-H2 as defined in EN 622 part 5 and gives all the design freedom of Standard grade MDF.

Medite Ultralite MDF maintains the excellent surface smoothness and stability of standard MDF. Medite Ultralite can be painted to achieve high quality surface finishes and provide a uniform substrate for overlaying. Medite Ecologique (ZF MDF) panel is manufactured with Zero added Formaldehyde. Developed specifically for use in environmentally sensitive interior applications such as museums, laboratories, art galleries, nursing homes, hospitals, nurseries and schools, where formaldehyde emissions need to be kept to the minimum. Medite Ecologique is ideal for cabinets, display cases, furniture, fixtures and mouldings.
